The Government of Nepal’s Revokes 3 Casino Licenses

Nepal’s tourism ministry is said to have revoked permits for three casinos in Nepal after it reportedly failed to pay overdue taxes and renewal fees within the deadline set by Nepal’s authorities.

According to local authorities, licenses for Rock International Pvt Ltd, Happy Hour Kathmandu, and Oriental Hotel (Ladison Hotel) Rajimpa have been revoked under local casino regulations enacted in 2013. It comes after three casinos failed to pay unpaid fees totaling NPR 95.5 million ($7.4 million), the report said.

The media quoted tourism ministry official Khemraj Joshi as saying the government was forced to take legal action because it “ignored” the three casinos to pay their dues despite “repeated announcements urging them to do so.” 파칭코

The official said a letter was sent to the Interior Ministry and police headquarters on March 29 asking them to implement their decision to revoke permits for the three casinos.

In September last year, some casinos in Nepal reportedly resumed operations after being closed for about 18 months due to government restrictions on the COVID-19 pandemic. All game venues in Nepal have been closed since March 24, 2020, when authorities implemented the first lockdown.
