MGM Grand’s LEVEL UP raises the bar for modern gaming

Skill-based games are slowly but surely establishing themselves as “new things” waiting to change the face of the gaming industry.

Casinos are looking to incorporate this new kind of gambling machine into their repertoire, attracting younger customers and adding a new spin to the traditional gaming floor. And if skill-based gaming is new, on Dec. 29, 2016, MGM Grand Hotel & Casino Las Vegas opened its next new thing, Level Up.

That doesn’t mean MGM Grand is a newcomer to non-game amenities or is reluctant to introduce new ways of entertainment.

“The non-gaming facility has always been important to provide a comprehensive experience for MGM Grand’s customers. We continue to strive to create new experiences,” said Justin Andrews, MGM Grand’s vice president of national marketing, at Casino City.

Last year alone, MGM Grand opened several non-game venues, such as Morimoto, a Japanese restaurant brought to you by chef Masaharu Morimoto, who is gaining fame as Iron Chef, Top Golf, a four-tier entertainment palace featuring more than just golf, and Losers, a country-themed bar and lounge. 스포츠토토

Levelling up, however, is a new kind of attraction. As the market leans toward a decidedly more social gaming atmosphere than old solo slot machines, superiors recognize the value of attracting customers to technology-based gaming.

Located between Hakkasan nightclub and MGM Grand Race and Sportsbook, LEVEL UP aims to continue to attract lonely millennials, who tend to travel in groups and don’t sit on slot machines and quietly press the same button again and again.

Called the “Adult Playground” on its website, Level Up features pool tables, pusballs, and table tennis, in addition to more unique services such as quad air hockey, sigma derby, and indoor laser golf courses with augmented reality components. Games will be suspended as new technologies become available, leaving guests on their toes and giving them a reason to return.

“Levelling up is about evolving over time and bringing new technologies and technology-based games to market,” says Andrews.

With 24 craft beers, specialty cocktail menus and live DJs, the atmosphere reflected in the live lucky bar is by far hip.
