Golden Nugget Danville Casino is finally open! Many city officials, various state representatives, and casino executives were invited to the ribbon cutting ceremony held to celebrate the casino’s long-awaited official grand opening.

The casino is located at 41.500 sq ft on the gaming floor. It consists of 14 table games, 500 slot machines, sportsbooks, two exquisite restaurants including the popular Saltgrass Steakhouse, and 650 ground parking spaces.
In May 2023, the temporary casino, which was operated under a license issued by the Illinois Gaming Board, finally opened. Along with land-based casinos, Golden Nuggets will use Golden Nugget Online Gaming to provide a sports betting platform. The platform is controlled by Tillman Fertita, along with Golden Nugget, the platform owner, CEO, and chairman of the board.
The platform was launched two months ago and is currently in the soft phase.
Wilmorite Construction and Bertita Entertainment, the developer and owner of the Illinois casino, commissioned the famous F.A. Wilhelm Construction in Indianapolis, Indiana, and the KDG Architecture Company in St. Louis, Missouri to project and build the entire casino building. During the casino’s construction in the past 11 months, the project was beneficial to local people even before its opening, as it provided construction jobs to more than 300 people.
Excited about the end of a huge project:
Jimmy Wilmot, president of Danville Development, commented on the grand opening. He said he was excited about the opening day and highlighted the first casino promotion for participants to win big awards. In addition to the enormous jackpot to win, there were many other prizes that customers had the chance to win. As Wilmot said, casinos didn’t have the legal capacity to offer such products before, so this was a big step for casinos and companies, and it’s no wonder everyone is excited!

After 30 years of planning and construction, the mayor claims that he is very excited that the project has come to life while he is watching.
After years of planning and talking about this huge project, the casino finally came out. No wonder Major is happy to be involved in a historic and wonderful project that will greatly benefit all citizens of Danville.
