WOMEN’S NATIONAL VOLLEYBALL TEAM FALL TO ITALY 0-3 IN PARIS OLYMPIC QUALIFIER FIRST MATCH

The Korean women’s volleyball team (ranked 36th in the world) fell to Italy (ranked fifth) in the first match of the Paris 2024 Olympic Qualification .Head coach Cesar Hernández González’s side fell to the Italians 0-3 (11-25 20-25 17-25) in straight sets in the first match of Group C in Łódź, Poland on 17 July. The Koreans were down by four points at the start of the first set and never recovered, losing the first set by a large margin .In the second set, the team took advantage of an attack error by their opponents, an open attack by Kwon Min-ji (GS Caltex) and a block by Lee Ju-ah (Heungkuk Life) to take a 3-0 lead.
