Strange rankings…Son Heung-min ‘8th best’ PL striker by English outlet

Son Heung-min is ranked as the 8th best Premier League (PL) striker by a British publication.

British media outlet Team Talk announced the top 10 strikers in the Premier League (PL) on March 13 (KST). The publication said it calculated goals against minutes played in the Premier League. It also said that it looked at strikers who scored at least 10 goals in the league.

As a result, the likes of Aston Villa’s Olly Watkins (averaging one goal every 231 minutes) and Mohamed Salah (averaging one goal every 134 minutes) are not included in this ranking as they do not play as strikers or frontline strikers.

At the top of the list is the undisputed “monster” Holland. Holland scored a goal every 78 minutes. “Holland scored 36 goals in 35 appearances in his debut season, breaking the record for most goals in a single season in the Premier League. He also scored 52 goals, the most in a single season in all competitions by a Premier League player,” the publication said.

The leaderboard that followed, however, was a bit more cryptic. After Holland, Newcastle’s Alexander Isaacs (one goal every 126 minutes) is second, Brighton & Hove Albion’s Evan Ferguson (one goal every 141 minutes) is third, and Nottingham Forest’s Tywar Oweniyi (one goal every 149 minutes) is fourth.

Son Heung-min came in at No. 8. Son scored a goal every 180 minutes. “Son has spent years as a winger, but the departure of Harry Kane in the summer left a hole in Tottenham’s frontline. Even with the availability of Xherdan Shaqiri, Postecoglou made the bold and genius choice to play Son up front.”

“Son, who won the Golden Boot alongside Salah in 2021-22, had a dip in form last season. But now he looks to be back to his best, having already 카지노사이트 scored the second most goals in the league this season. It’s even more impressive when you consider that he has taken on a new role.”

Son’s ranking is a little harder to justify when you consider his PL career, as it’s goals against minutes played. Aside from Son, who is now in his ninth season with Tottenham, every other player has played less time in the PL than Son. Heung-min has played the most games of any of the 10 players on this list, totaling 280. Given his longevity and consistency in scoring goals, Son’s eighth-place ranking is not surprising.
