‘Park Ji-soo’s triple-double’ helps KB beat Samsung Life to reach 20 wins

The Cheongju KB of the Korean Women’s Professional Basketball League has reached the 20-win plateau and moved one step closer to winning the regular season title.

KB won 85-77 on the road against Samsung Life Insurance of Yongin in the Women’s Professional Basketball League 스포츠토토 on Jan. 31 at Yongin Gymnasium.

Riding a nine-game winning streak, KB improved to 20-2 and extended its lead over second-place Asan Woori Bank (17-4) to 2.5 games.

If KB wins seven of its remaining eight games this season, it can clinch the regular season title regardless of Woori Bank’s performance.

Samsung Life, on the other hand, will have to settle for third place with 10 wins and 12 losses.

KB struggled in the first quarter, trailing Samsung Life 33-47. But in the third quarter, Kang Isul and Heo Ye-eun hit from beyond the arc to open the fourth quarter with a 64-62 lead. With momentum on their side, KB sealed the win with Park Ji-soo (24 points, 14 rebounds, 10 assists), who recorded her eighth career “triple-double”.

Samsung Life’s Bae Hye-yoon also recorded her first career triple-double (14 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists), but came up short in the loss.
