‘Minjae Kim benched for third straight game’ Munich reveal starting lineup for 26R Darmstadt

Bayern Munich defender Kim Min-jae will once again start the match from the bench.

Bayern Munich have announced their starting lineup for the 26th round match of the 2023-2024 German Bundesliga season against SV Darmstadt at the Merck am Bohlenpalastor in Darmstadt, Hesse, Germany, on Saturday at 11:30 p.m. ET. Kim Min-jae was named to the substitutes’ bench instead of the starting lineup.

Recently, Kim’s position has changed. Munich brought in Eric Dier from Tottenham Hotspur to cover for Kim’s departure from South Korea’s squad for the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) 2023 Asian Cup in Qatar. After returning from the Asian Cup, Kim started the first three games but was not well received and was dropped to the bench.

Tuchel opted for the Der Licht and Dyer combination against RB Leipzig in the Round of 23, with Kim coming on as a 36th-minute substitute. Dyer missed the UEFA Champions League round of 16 second leg against SS Lazio on Sept. 6 and came on as a second-half substitute against Mainz on Sept. 9.

With Dyer and three-option center back Der Licht keeping one clean sheet in two games and leading the team to victory, Kim’s future is more uncertain. Even Upamecano, the first-choice center back, will return for the next game. To make matters worse, next season, Munich are reportedly looking to sign Benfica center back Antonio Silva.

In this match, Kim Min-jae will start from the bench. Munich lined up in a 4-2-3-1 formation. Manuel Neuer, Joshua Kimmich, Matthias Derricht, Eric Dier, Raphael Guerreiro, Leon Goretzka, Aleksandar Pavlovic, Leroy Sane, Thomas Muller, Jamal Musial, and Harry Kane will start.

Kim Min-jae played for SSC Napoli last season. Many fans had their doubts about him, but he proved them wrong by winning the Serie A September Player of the Month award. He helped lead Napoli to their first Serie A title in 33 years and was named the league’s undisputed best defender at the end of the season.

Kim joined Munich from Napoli in the Italian Serie A ahead of this season. He anchored Munich’s defense in the first half of the season, starting all 16 league games 바카라사이트 as the Bavarians struggled with their center back pairing due to injuries to Dayo Upamecano and Matthias der Licht. He has the full trust of coach Thomas Tuchel.

However, Kim remained on the bench for the match. Kim said he is happy with his recent situation. ”In the past, I would always go out on the field even though I thought I wasn’t good enough, but now it depends on the team’s performance and the performance of my teammates to decide whether I can do well or not,” he said in an interview before the match.

“I’m not particularly unhappy, and I’m training as hard as I always have. It’s something I’ve never done before in my life, but I think I can learn from it. Not being able to play doesn’t mean I’m completely out of the competition, and I’m always confident in my abilities when I step out on the field.”

Finally, Kim concluded, “Of course, I’m thinking a lot right now and I’ve played a lot of matches so far. But there are so many good players here in Munich, so there might be times when I don’t get to play. I’m not particularly unhappy right now. I’m just training hard all the time.”
