KT manager Lee Kang-cheol ‘breaks 3-game losing streak’

KT snaps three-game losing streak. KT coach Lee Kang-cheol was all smiles.

KT won 7-4 against Lotte at Suwon Stadium on Thursday. The win snapped a three-game losing streak that began on April 10 against Doosan. The team has won eight straight home games since April 23 against Hanwha.

KT took the early lead. In the third inning, leadoff hitter Mel Junior Rojas doubled and came home on Kim Min-hyuk’s single to right.

Lotte answered right back. In the top of the fourth, Victor Reyes led off with a triple and scored on a single by Jeon Jun-woo to tie the game at 1-1. In the fifth inning, Yoo Kang-nam, who started in the No. 8 spot, hit a solo home run to give Lotte a 2-1 lead.

In the seventh inning, leadoff hitter Na Seung-yup was replaced by pinch-hitter Hwang Sung-bin after he was hit by a foul pitch and walked. Park Seung-wook then stole second and came home on Lee Hak-joo’s infield single to extend the lead to 3-1.

However, KT quickly regained the lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. A Rojas single and a walk to Kim Min-hyuk put two runners in scoring position, and Kang Baek-ho took a five-pitch 145-kilometer fastball from Choi Joon-yong for a three-run home run over the left field wall.

Lotte tied the game in the top of the eighth when Jeon Jun-woo hit a solo home run.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, KT started with a walk to Cheon Sung-ho, and then Kim Min-hyuk drew another walk to load the bases. The pitcher was replaced by Jin Hae-soo, who got 카지노 Kang Baek-ho to ground into an automatic double play. The pitcher changed again to Han Hyun-hee. Jang Sung-woo took the sixth pitch from Han Hyun-hee, but the ball was not caught by Jeon Joon-woo in left field, and both runners came home. KT starter Uhm Sang-baek gave up two runs on four hits, one home run, two walks, and seven strikeouts in six innings.

“All the players had a strong will to end the losing streak,” said manager Lee Kang-cheol after the game, “Uhm Sang-baek fulfilled his role as a starter, and the bullpen did a good job of minimizing runs.”

“In the batting order, the top of the order was very focused. Baek-ho Kang’s three-run home run to set the tone for the game stood out, and Jang Sung-woo’s game-winning hit at the end sealed the victory.”

“Thank you to the players for their hard work and to the fans for their support,” he added.
