Churchill Downs Opens Derby City Gaming Downtown In Louisville

Churchill Downs Corporation announced the opening of Derby City Gaming Downtown in Louisville, Kentucky. The $90 million investment marks CDI’s sixth historic racing machine entertainment venue in Kentucky. The public grand opening festival included a $40,000 charitable donation to the Norton Healthcare Foundation and The Hope Buses, reflecting the CDI’s commitment to cutting commemorative ribbons and revitalizing downtown Louisville.

DCG Downtown’s development has created 400 construction jobs and will create more than 150 permanent jobs. The CDI has joined Messenger Construction to focus its project efforts on provider diversity, economic inclusion, and community engagement. More than $14 million of its investment has been spent on Ministry, Women, and Vietnam-owned subcontracting services.
