A Record-Setting Easter Weekend

Rachel Renee Romanic, a 38-year-old mother of four, became a millionaire less than 10 minutes after she started playing during her Easter break. She said her friend actually had to drag her to the casino but I bet she won’t argue with him again.

The couple made their way to the terrible Rail City in Sparks, Nevada, on Easter night when Romanik started dropping tokens on a Megabucks slot machine. When the lights started to flicker and the display said “$33 million,” she couldn’t believe it was real.

It’s the second highest jackpot in U.S. casinos and the highest ever for IGT. In 2003, $39.7 million from the Excalibur Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas was the highest.
