A few years after attempts by the Timbisha Shoshone tribe to secure land and build a casino in Ridgecrest, California, failed, the Timbisha tribe is now working on another casino project. The project in question is proposing to develop a casino in Inikorn, near Highway 178 and Highway 395.
Judging by notice from the Indian secretariat, the timbisha shoshone tribe has been approved by the Indian deputy secretary for acquisition of land that will be used for “games and other purposes.” The land is described as a land parcel in Kern County, which is approximately 20 acres.
