‘Men’s Han, Women’s Kim Yeon-kyung and Kang So-hwi’ top salaries for 2024-2025 season

Men’s Han and women’s Kim Yeon-kyung and Kang So-hwi top the list of salaries for the new season.

The Korean Volleyball Federation announced the first round of players who will play in the Dodram 2024-2025 V-League on Monday.

In the men’s division, a total of 108 players from seven clubs have registered. Korean Air has 16 players, OK Financial Group 17 players, Woori Card 15 players, Hyundai Capital 15 players, KEPCO 15 players, Samsung Fire 16 players, and KB Insurance 14 players. The average compensation (salary plus options) for the seven clubs is KRW 223 million, 파워볼게임 a decrease of KRW 6 million from last season.

In the women’s league, a total of 103 players from seven clubs have registered. The average compensation for women in the women’s division is KRW 161 million, up about 6% from last season.

Korean Air’s Jung Ji-seok followed with a total of 920 million won (700 million won in salary and 220 million won in options). In third place was OK Financial Group’s Lee Min-kyu with a contract worth KRW908 million (KRW800 million per year, KRW180 million in options), followed by Hyundai Capital’s Heo Soo-bong and KEPCO’s Shin Young-seok with KRW800 million (KRW800 million per year) and KRW777 million (KRW600 million per year, KRW177 million in options), respectively.

On the women’s side, Heungkuk Life’s Kim Yeon-kyung and Korea Expressway Corporation’s Kang So-hwi tied for first place with a total of 800 million won ($500 million) in salary and 300 million won in options.

Kim was the highest-paid player in the women’s division for the third consecutive season. She was followed by Pepper Savings Bank’s Park Jung-ah in third place with a total compensation of KRW 775 million, including KRW 475 million in annual salary and KRW 300 million in options. In fourth place was IBK’s Lee So-young (700 million won, 450 million won in annual salary, 250 million won in options) and Hyundai E&C’s Yang Hyo-jin (600 million won, 400 million won in annual salary, 200 million won in options).

For the 2024-2025 season, the men’s team will have a salary cap of 4.15 billion won and an option cap of 1.66 billion won, totaling 5.81 billion won. The women’s division will have a total compensation of KRW 2.9 billion, including a salary cap of KRW 2 billion, an option cap of KRW 600 million, and a win fee of KRW 300 million.

Meanwhile, a total of 50 players, including 22 men and 28 women, have been registered as free agents, and free agents are free to sign with any club from the date of disclosure until the end of the third round of the regular season.
