The event, which was first held in 2017 and marks its fifth anniversary this year, is a program in which Samsung Life Insurance players and high school elite athletes train together and experience mentoring. It will be held for three days until the 10th. A total of 27 athletes from Bundang Management High School, Sookmyung Girls’ High School, and Chuncheon Girls’ High School will participate this year.

Coach Ha Sang-yoon created a pleasant atmosphere by exchanging jokes with middle-aged players training, and led the training by demonstrating his posture on the court.

Coach Ha said, “I think the intention of the camp is so good. When I was young, it was really cool to have professional seniors come and exercise together, and I remember that every word he said came as a great motivation. There is a reason why the visit by amateur players comes more special to Ha. After retiring in 2011, Ha had long been an amateur leader and coached young players at Gwangan Middle School and Gwangan Broadcasting High School.

“I talked a lot with amateur leaders who came here,” Ha said. “I haven’t been an amateur leader for a long time, but I asked them what amateur basketball is like these days. It’s not an easy stage to play. The answer was similar.”

“Sometimes I say this from the bottom of my heart. I will go to amateur leaders whenever they need my help during the offseason. I don’t know how much it will help the players, but if it’s okay, I’m willing to help them. I think a lot about what I can do for basketball,” he added.

Ha continued, “I think everyone is together within the big framework of basketball. We will not be able to train during the event, but it wasn’t as important as I thought. I want to do more for you.”

Finally, he expressed his desire, “I hope young players learn a lot about how to do it as a basketball player by watching professional sisters. I hope it will motivate me and foster my motivation.”
