Greece beats Croatia to advance to Olympics for the first time in 16 years

The Greek men’s basketball team led by Antetokounmpo will return to the Olympics after beating Croatia for the first time in 16 years. Greece defeated Croatia 80-69 in the final round of the qualifying tournament for the 2024 Paris Olympics held in Piraeus, Greece on Saturday.

Competition was fierce from the start of the competition as the regional preliminary round will only give one berth to the Olympics. Greece defeated Slovenia, which is dominated by Luka Doncic of the Dallas Mavericks, on the previous day and even overwhelmed Croatia, an ambush. It is the first time in 16 years that Greece has advanced to the Olympic finals since the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Yannis Antetokounmpo played an active role once again. Antetokounmpo also had 23 points, eight rebounds, and three assists in the final. He also won the MVP award in the preliminary round in Greece. Although he failed to play the NBA playoffs due to a calf injury, he brought his country to the Olympics once again. 동행복권파워볼
